Liv was investigating the soft underbellies of our couch cushions the other day when i walked into the room.
bead inna ear, she said. i couldn't see anything, but she kept shaking her head as if to dislodge something--maybe a bead?
so we headed over to urgent care, where the doctor confirmed there was something "inna" ear, and tried to float it out with water. that failing, she sent us to a local ENT. it was rough having to hold liv down so tightly when she was so afraid, but in less than a minute the doctor placed a tiny googly eye in my palm. no charge.
thanks, doctor, said Liv.
later, in the car, she elaborated: doctor fix me. bead out! feel better now.
No charge. Hahah. I just don't understand why kids want to put stuff in ears, noses, belly buttons, etc. I once had to pull a piece of foam out of Lyza's nose with tweezers. Did Ally ever get anything stuck?
ReplyDeleteAlly stuck a pinto bean up her nose. i sucked it out with a straw.
ReplyDeleteAutumn stuck a long skinny magnet up her nose once. I remember when Ally put the bean up her nose. Good times! Glad the ENT person got it out in a jiff! Now I know where you keep all your googly eyes when I come to visit someday.
ReplyDeletewas she trying to see inside her ear, perhaps?
ReplyDeletemanda stuck a piece of gum up her nose once. waaaaaaaay up there. or maybe it was a marble? i forget
